TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese animal welfare activists on Thursday (March 10) joined an initiative demanding that McDonald’s cease the use of cage eggs in its restaurants in Asia.
Protests involving eight animal protection groups took place in 11 cities, including Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Jakarta, Bali, and Yogyakarta. Holding illustrations depicting caged hens, the activists called for better living conditions for the birds in a campaign that will last several weeks.
